I made this quilt for a challenge to make a quilt inspired by a piece of traditional African fabric. The colors, and the shapes of the water and the bird foot prints came from the fabric. The bird is a purple swamphen (now called African swamphen, native to the same area as the fabric. The woodblock style is one that I’ve been exploring in a new series.
Cotton fabrics. Machine appliqued and quilted.
